Why won’t avast Anti virus start up?

When I start my computer up my windows security center says avast anti virus is turned off. I turn it on but it is getting real annoying can someone please help me?

      if u are using the free version of avast then u might need a new registry code. its easy 2 get just follow the steps in avast

      Has your startup programs been altered?
      START, RUN, type in MSCONFIG, press enter or click on run, then click on startup tab, then see if avast is ticked as it needs to be (careful consideration is needed in this section, so only tick or untick the things u recognize only) hope this helps
