I was on a page that required me to install a missing plugin but when i clicked the "install missing plugin" button, it says "no plugins were installed". And i opened my Firefox browser as "Run as Administrator" and got the same crap. So then i decided to manually install the plugin (which by the way is Windows Media Player 11) and it took me to a page where i could click to install it, but when i did, the only options on the installation window was "save file" and "cancel". So i saved the file and nothing happened. can someone please help me with this???
i have no earthly idea on how to run the file since no windows popped up after i saved the file. and i dont even know where the file is saved to.

Did you run the file after you saved it?

There are a couple of ways to go about this… the easiest is to make sure your cache for firefox is clear and that you have the most recent version of firefox available. To clear your cache go to Tools, then click on Options. From there click on the Advanced tab on the window that opens. Then 'Network'. You should see cache. Click the clear now.
If the plug-in still won't work try installing the desired application separately.

When it says "save file" or "open" the bottom of that box would say where it is being saved to.
Anyway, get it again and tell it to OPEN. This should automatically install it for you.
If not, now you know the file name, do Start>Search for the file name, then click on it (straight from the search result window) to get it installing.
