My problem is earlier I had a problem with a blue screen popping up on my computer saying there was a problem and it needed to be shut down. So I would restart it and then windows would go through a 3 step process to make sure everything is alright. Then yesterday it came up again and I restarted my computer and then it went through all the loading and welcome screen, but when my background came up the icons and Start task bar didn't load. Then a error message came up saying windows needed to shut down. When I clicked on the details it said that my Temp files were bad, I sent an error report, but really don't know much else about it. Do I have to reload windows? I really don't know, so if you have any ideas please let me know
Well they are all good answers, but when I get to Safe Mode, my start menu or anything doesn't load either, so is there another way to do the System Restore. The only thing that I can get to pop up is the task manager by hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Did you try System Restore? If you have not, try it first.
If the error persist, run in safe mode and back up all your important files. Bottom-line reformat and reinstall Windows XP.

try booting at safe mode(by hitting f8 simultaneously) then do a depth scan with your anti-virus program…maybe u're infected with virus or something..^_^

Try this:
Boot up in the safe mode (Press F8 during the boot process and choose safe mode)
If it boots then go to
My computer> local disk (probably C:)> Documents and Settings> Name of Computer User>Local Setting (may be a hidden file - so activate show hidden files and folders from the tools menu)>Temp files Then delete everything you can from that folder.
Then restart Windows it should load normally.
