Will avast conflict with norton internet security?

June 13th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Im currently using AVG free edition (8) with Norton and they dont conflict or slow down my pc.
But im considering giving avast a go instead or AVG because i heard it was better. Is that true?
And if i do install it will in conflict with norton?

I personally use AVG alone and it is best for me. But i have herad avast is equally good. I am not sure that you should have 2 anti-virus installed. Just choose one of the three and use that one. Because it is bound to create some problem later.

Everything conflicts with Norton, remove it. The new AVG 8 is a resource hogger, I've removed it.

Yeah don't ever have more than one antivirus lol! Been there and it's killed my machine a few times. Norton is elephantware, don't ever use it. I've used all three and prefer AVG 8.

Note: Avast system tray icon is annoying

Or just try Avast for a week AVG for another. Decide yourself which has served you better. Virus-wise it will hardly make a difference. Just surf safely and you'll be fine.
