My ipod touch won’t sync to my computer…I’ve tried it all, restarting ipod, resetting ipod, restarting computer, running anit-virus and spyware…diagnostics keep saying that everything is working correctly (usb port is working, cable is connected etc) but does not show the ipod connected when it is.
The next step everything is telling me to do is try uninstalling then reinstalling itunes. Before I do this…will I lose everything in my itunes library or will it save somehow?
OR…if anyone knows exactly how to fix this problem…please let me know!! I’ve been going thru all the steps in the apple help page.
***(I’m getting frustrated!!!)

if you have the music files saved on your computer, no.

I have actually done this and because my music files were backed up on my computer when I reinstalled it again it done a search -per request and found all of my music files again no problems
But u will have to get ur new itunes program to do a search again.

your itunes library itself is just a folder on your computer containing apps, music, videos. when you remove itunes from your computer the folder itself will not be deleted, what might be deleted is the itunes library file (.ibdx). all this means is that you will have to re-add all the files to your library using the simple drag and drop method or the itunes folder add option.
if you want to be really smart you can save the ibdx file and paste it back in for later. all u have to do is go to users—->appdata—>roaming.
