I am about to get Kaspersky antivirus, and I was wondering when it detects the viruses, what will it do? Will it delete them automatically or will I have to delete them manually, and if so, how do I delete them manually? I have not heard one bad thing about Kaspersky. Someone who worked at a store selling the antivirus said it was either the best or one of the best on the market.

yes, it will, but it will not detect all of them. It will automatically scan, and you will have to tell it what to do with the viruses

Generally, what anti-viruses do, is they first try to clean the infection. They try and remove the malicious code that has been imbedded in it.
If it fails to clean it, it will most likely ask or automatically delete the file for you.
If it fails to delete the file, it will put it in an area for contaminated files for later cleaning.
This program, I've personally not heard of before, but it will either ask you during the scan/clean process if you want to delete all infected files or just do it automatically.

I've heard that you really have to know what you are doing with Kaspersky anti-virus. You will also need anti-spyware/anti-malware programs to scan your computer with regularly.
Download, install, update and scan with the following free:
AVG Free from http://free.avg.com/ - this is an anti-virus, ensure that you only have one anti-virus program installed on your computer
You can have multiple anti-spyware/malware/adware programs to scan, ensure they are legitimate. I suggest the following:
SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition from http://www.superantispyware.com or http://www.download.com
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware…
Valid downloads of Malwarebytes only come from these sites:
http://www.download.com
http://www.majorgeeks.com
http://projects.securitywonks.net
Spybot Search & Destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org - activate TeaTimer and ensure that you immunize every time you update (Spybot S & D updates on Thursday)
Ad-Aware 2008 Free from http://www.lavasoft.com
CCleaner is a good tool to run once in awhile
Firefox is a much safer browser than IE http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0.5/releasenotes/
If you run into malware problems, I suggest you register with the Spybot Search & Destroy Forums and post your problem in the Malware Removal Forum… they are excellent at talking people through the process of cleaning their computers. http://forums.spybot.info/
