Ok, I have a virus on my computer for sure. I can’t go into regular mode because after a few minutes it will give me that blue screen that says your computer has noticed a problem and is restarting. So I have to be in safe mode. Now, I have bought a year long Mcafee total protection 2009, that just came in the mail (because the free trial that computer came with has expired.) Should I go get my computer checked out first or can I just install the Mcafee on my computer while in safe mode? If, I do the 2nd option, will it get rid of the virus?
Thank you for the first 2 comments, but
I have already BOUGHT the Mcafee. thank you for your time but, no help
The virus didn’t come from Mcafee, I download something and the virus came with it

This wasn’t your question but I thought this would be helpful for you: In the future, I’d suggest installing Mozilla Firefox and adding the add-on WOT (Web of Trust.) This will keep you from going to dangerous websites by telling you which are dangerous before you view them.
Good luck!

No one can answer that question for you. There are thousands of different trojans, and other malware out there. No one program removes them all. The only thing you can do is install, update it if you can. Then run a safe mode scan. Once malware is on your computer it can be tough to remove, depending on what you are infected with. Good luck

Yes Mcafee better get rid of your virus otherwise what use is it to you. No don’t go get your computer checked out just remove the trial version that you have installed. Then install the new one update it and run a full system scan.
Note it might be a good idea to disconnect your computer from the internet while you removing the trial version of Mcafee. Install the new one then connect it to the internet again so you can update it

I had that same virus with Mcafee installed as well, they are targeted because they are such a popular program. I have been using ESET since and no more problems.
As far as your question, doesn’t hurt to just try and installing it and see if it will delete the virus.
Best of luck.
