Windows always says "virus protection off" but it's not. (kaspersky)?

March 17th, 2009 · 2 Comments

I have kaspersky (so much better than thieving trendmicro idiots)
I've basically ignored this but my desktop always has the windows red shield with an x stating my virus protection is off but it's not. I don't have this problem with my laptop.

I know i can turn this off but I would like it to recognize that it is on.

Sometimes a reboot will help. I've heard that Microsoft's security doesn't recognize certain software. Mine did the same thing with AVG! Or you could reinstall the antivirus you have. Hope this helps some.

if you click that stupid 'shield' thing, look around and find that little check-box and 'tick' it. i don't remember what the ignorant thing says or where to find it because one of the first things i do is disable the service because it's a totally useless annoyance.

you can disable it two ways (in case you don't know)
      1. go stomp around in gpedit (take all day)
      2. disable it in 'services' (take 30 seconds)

      gpedit.msc
      services.msc
      your choice…
