windows firewall or norton firewall?

April 18th, 2008 · 4 Comments

My security centre says both fire walls are active, however it also mentions the 2 firewalls running at same time can conflict.
So which firewall should i keep active windows or norton?
Also is it ok to keep both of em on?
Please dont ask me to deactivate both and use commodo or any other firewall.

lol…Comodo is so much better, and this is why.

If you insist, turn off Windows Firewall; it's completely useless. Norton is fairly useless. Running both of them together is a risk.

By default, when installing another firewall, windows automatically turns its firewall off. However, if you are using another firewall, in this case, norton firewall then it is better to turn the windows firewall off.

If you have Norton then disable the Windows Firewall as that firewall is very basic in its capabilities. I don't have Norton but use the Comodo Firewall which is free and gives excellent security protection.

Neither Pc Tools Firewall Plus is low on system resources and far more secure than ZoneAlarm etc.
