I can’t turn it on and I keep getting a warning message reminding that the firewall is off. I’ve just changed the anti-virus software I had running. It was previously Norton and I’ve changed it to the ‘windows live one care.’ What happens is that I go to my computer/control panel/firewall, then on the general tab there are the 2 options for turning the firewall on or off. Both options are appear in the dull writing so that when I click on the button box, nothing happens. I’ve tried resetting defaults but that doesn’t work. I think it has something to do with the change in anti-virus software because the old Norton had a firewall built in to it and it automatically deactivated the windows fire wall. Since I’ve deleted Norton I don’t have a firewall and I don’t know if the new windows one has it or not…does anyone know what’s going on?

Windows onecare should have a firewall. But it sounds like you have a conflict in your windows security center. I am guessing that Norton has not been completely removed. Try running the Norton removal tool.
