So I just spent five hours working on a video. I got a buncha video files, and put them together using transitions and the such. Now, it says that it cannot be saved, and I'm guessing because the original source file cannot be found. They are right where I put them (the desktop), and I have not moved/renamed them. Also, when I try to put all the files on the timeline, they overlap, so I can't put on all the video files. Can anyone please help me, I don't want all this time wasted.

This happened to me a while back as well. It would not let me save what I worked so hard on. I had to go out and come back in. I'm not sure about the saving to your desktop. Have you tried to save it in "my videos"?
For the time line you can add space by moving the cursor and dragging it over a little. If they over lap you can just hit undo.
