My computer was fine,then one day i just turned it on and it was wouldnt start. it just said " Windows could not start because the following file is missingor corrupt:
<Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file.
What does this mean? What can i do to fix it?

You have to do a Windows Repair Install, or you have to reinstall Windows. hal.dll is sort of the driver for the whole computer. If it gets corrupted (or is missing), the hardware isn’t there, as far as Windows is concerned, so Windows won’t start.
