Windows Vista Explorer.exe Failure

This is a recurring problem on my computer, been happening for several months.
Explorer.exe will often crash, and I have to manually restart it in Task Manager.
any known fixes?

      First more info would be helpful to others readers.
      1. CPU specs.
      2. what program was running when it crashed.
