i have a windows vista install disc for a dell pc. i got it from my laptop. is it possible to install it on a compaq pc? i was wondering because it says for dell pc. or does it not matter? and also will vista run fine on my computer? my specs are
1 GB RAM
160GB hard drive X2
and a nvidea gforce 6600

you probably can….but it will be a license violation. Windows Vista is licensed for one pc/device only per copy.

first up i dont think a dell install disc will work in a compaqbut im not exatly sure, secondly it will run pretty soothly(i have nearly same specs and i run XP black well, which is essentially the same as vista) ,why do you want vista anyway its not very good

Daniel C is partly wrong. Vista is great there is no problem with it.
