Windows Vista Ultimate upgrade?

October 10th, 2008 · 6 Comments

I bought the upgrade pack for windows vista ultimate x64, Im upgrading from home premium x64. At the end of the installation it said it couldnt install a system file, and i had to roll back, and when I try to do a clean installation it wont let me choose a drive to put it on, the next button is never active.
Thanks for the jackass comments everyone.
And I'm a programmer/graphic designer.
I use Linux Debian when I can, but i need vista for my job..

And how much did you pay for it?

Windows Vista is terrible, and Windows Vista Ultimate is overly expensive and terrible.

Welcome to the world of Vista, I always perform clean installs of vista never upgrades, they rarely work.

So if you do a clean install there is no drive for you to select. Is there a raid controller on the pc. If so you will need to download the driver and put it on a floppy or usb drive. Start the install again and when you get to that screen you should see the option to install the drivers. Once the drivers for the raid controller are installed it will continue.
