I'm attempting to trouble shoot a friends computer. His windows installation stopped working suddenly (normal boot or safe mode the system would just reboot over and over) First thing I did was install a clean copy of windows in a new folder and backed up all his files, that worked perfectly. I then ran a hard disk diagnostic no errors. So I formated the drive and made a clean install of windows. It seemed fine at first however the system became unstable after installing the first batch of windows updates. processes crashing frequently etc. I formated and installed again. this time windows wouldn't boot at all, I formated and tried to install again this time the installer gave me a BSOD. ARG! So I did a memory test with Memtest86+ no errors, another hard disk diag with surface scan no errors, a cpu burn in test, no errors. I installed windows again (no update) seemed to work at first but as soon as I installed a program system crash wont boot. I'm stumped. What next

a bsod? check on the video cards performance in device manger. computer might also need a new cooling system for the better program. i had this happen to me when was setting up a computer with possible programs that require the pc to work harder to maintain. this caused it to go ballistic. this caused my cp to trash core memory of the cd drive and one of the three video cards. the computer is obviously being a wimp, it needs better parts. mostly cooling parts. i tryed
