i have windows xp and recently after a reboot of my computer (reboot-not related to problem) my desktop is now blank. the only thing on there is my desktop background image that i have. the computer will run & the hourglass shows a bit, but nothing; no icons, no taskbar either.. When i right click the mouse nothing happens.. If i press ctrl, alt, del–it says task manager has been disabled by administrator (n i know thas a lie cuz i always use the tmanager, so y wud i disable it).. and i can’t start it in safe mode because it’ll give me a message something like system32 dll file something like that is corrupt or damaged… <—-message not exact word-for-word, but thas the gist… can someone help please….. the only thing i can think of recently is that i have the windows secrurity thing on and i have another program called CounterSpy loaded as well… not sure if that makes a difference but i’ve heard things about 2 different virus programs don’t work well 2gether.. hmmm i dunno.. but i have several files n pictures n music that i really need… will i lose all of that?

Sounds like your flux device system is acting up. You should call a flux device dealer and have them flush it out. Before you loose your data.

Sounds more like you have a virus on your computer. First thing they usually do is disable Task Manager. Since you can not even start in safe mode, you have big problems. Try booting from the XP system CD and do a system repair. If that does not work it looks like time for a format/re-install of the OS
Good Luck
