Windows XP installation problem….help!?

While installation a fresh copy of Windows XP on my laptop. During installation it said. “the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error”. So now i cannot reinstall XP and its just stuck. What should I do?

      Go into the Bios and turn off any CPU or Video Caching then try to reinstall.

      Looks like there is a problem with your XP installation CD or the Cd/DVD rom itself. Try replacin the installation CD if it does not work the i think theres a prob with ur rom

      It sounds like there is an issue with your hard drive. Did you previously replace the hard drive in the laptop? I recommend determining where the hard drive is and making sure that it is inserted properly. I received this message and reseated the hard drive and was able to install fine.
