Windows xp media center setup getting hal.dll missing or corrupt error?

December 28th, 2008 · No Comments

I recently formatted my hardrive and have to reinstall i put my disk in and setup everything then i format and i made a new partition. i have to format toget to the install when its done it installs when it says take out disk and restart i do so. on restart i get the error file hal.dll is missing or corrupt. Im positive its is missing casue i went into the recovery console and tried to expand the file it doesnt find it so yea its missing my sisk is fine tho i recently installed it on my macbook with boot camp. right now im on my laptop using mac side.

Is there a way to copy the file to the partition when i have my cd in the main computer with the problem. like using the recovery console, i want o know if there is a command line that allows me to copy this certain file from the cd and install it in the newly installed section. If not can i put the setup cd in my laptop and find the cd and edit the contents on it and download the file and add it to the other files so when i install it will put it in also so i wont get his error. I not that good at writnig so this may seem confusing. If so add me on aim santa21194 i never use email only once in a while. If anybody needs anymore info since this may be repetitive please ask i will try my best ok thanks in advance =)
