As soon as i open the stupid program a dialogue box pops up that says "windows movie maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Unfortunately i don't have a clue what that means so i don't know what to do about it. I understand something isn't working correctly obviously, but it doesn't specify what.
Will it help if i update to 2.1 or whatever? And can I do that without updating my whole computer? (links please?)
Also, the movie maker thing is temporary until i have enough money to buy adobe or pinnacle or something so don't just tell me movie maker sucks… i understand that lol.

i had similar problem and downloaded mm 2.6 until i got the bug out of the later mm. 2.6 worked fine. i then found some updates on MS website that fixed the other.
i use MM to make amateur documentaries without a single problem. i have a basic $8oo lap top, 1GB (gigabyte, or 1024MB of RAM)
