Hi,
My computer was running fine last night, switched it on today and windows won’t load, I never deleted or changed anything. It takes me to screen which asks if you want to set up in normal/safe mode etc, but when I select safe mode if won’t boot up on that or anything else.
I looked in BIOS but there is no option to boot from disc, and I can’t reinstall windows because when I put the disc in nothing comes up at all. Any suggestions please?
There is no error message, and if I select normal mode it just beeps and goes back to the same screen that gives you normal/safe mode etc
didn't do anything unusual, didn't change anything, add or delete anything and shut it down as usual. The day before the power tripped and everything went off, although it worked completely fine after that with no problems

It could be the hard drive. It sounds like a hardware not a software issue. If you put the XP disk in, it should of tried to reload the OS, or ask you if you want to repair.

Give some more details please. Try to answer these questions:
Does it show an error screen and if so, what does it say?
What does it do on a normal boot?

Ok. What were you doing on it last night?
By any chance, did the power go out while you were using it? (on rare occasions this can cause errors in the boot files)

Ok, the only thing I can suggest without being there is to put the XP installation cd in (assuming you have one) and do a repair installation.
