todya i installed the vista servica pack as it was recommended!! i first had sound problems which i have now resolved but now im having wireless problems, i cant connect to my network, im havin to wire my laptop up to the hub! it says i have low wireless signals when i have 5 bar signal for my network, anyway of fixing this? ive never had this problem until i installed this stupid service pack!!
ive now found out that my wan miniport has a problem as its got a yellow exclamation mark by it in device manager. anyways of fixing this?

common problem!
Uninstall the SP1 by going backward in the restore points.
I dumped vista and installed XP Pro.

I don't have Vista here at work, but at home I had some troubles also. Try this:

There are a couple settings you need to change…network discovery or something like that. I'll watch this question and try to help tonight if it hasn't been resolved.
Addition to your details:
A yellow exclamation mark by it in device manager means that most likely there is a problem with a driver. Right click on it and "update driver software" See if that helps.

Try the simple things:
- Restart laptop
- Restart router
- Check if it works for other people (if possible)
You should also check if it is just your router (again if possible)
Disable your wireless card and then enable it (Right click on my computer - properites - device manager on the left)
If you cant connect to any network try reinstalling the driver.
