I have a lenovo 3000 n200 laptop with vista home prem. My wireless card is intel pro wireless pro 3945ABG. In my wireless router at home, I cant connect to it unless the router is restarted and if I loose connection after that, I wont be able to connect if I dont restart the router which is a hassle since all other laptops at home can connect pretty easily. I know distance isnt the issue and have tested my wireless card which works fine with wireless in my workplace and anywhere else.
This problem wasnt there before a few weeks and even with my firewall turned off, the router shows my home network as “identifying - unidentified network”. Without restarting my router, my wireless connects to the home network with “limited connection(exclamation sign)” though signal strength is fine and all older laptops can connect easily with it. My laptop is one year old. and even when I bring my laptop real close to the router,it still wont show internet connection though it connects to the router. what do I do?

reinstall the wi-fi driver for the laptop

use the automatically download option and then choose the wi-fi driver
hope this helps

You want to make sure that your wireless is not set up to have a manual IP address (This may be how it was set up for you at your office). If you set it up at your office or know for sure that it doesn’t have an manual IP address entered then you can try to go into your network and sharing center and disable the wireless connection and then re-enable it. Sometimes, it gets confused about where it is connecting. The other thing is to make sure that you don’t have a saved WEP Key or other security code in the laptop that was changed on the router. If the router has security set up, try disabling it and see if it connects better. It may be that the router/laptop don’t have the same wireless security settings in them.
