Would I loose my emails if I uninstall and reinstall yahoo messenger?

Something wrong with my yahoo messenger. I do not know what, but anytime I open yahoo messenger after I checked emails or done with my computer, when I turned the computer off, I got error message "yahoo messenger.exe" about yahoo messenger. I always have to end the program, then computer will log off. So I was thinking if I could uninstall and reinstall it.

By the way how do I know what version of messenger do I have? I do not want to install different version, in case I loose all emails, Some are very important to me and I want them.

Yahoo Mail has nothing to do with messenger and you will not lose them. To see the version click on help > about Yahoo messenger.
