xvidcore.dll not found–the standard “fix” doesn’t work?

I get an error message, xvidcore.dll not found, whenever I try to view or work with my (Flip) videos. I've found similar questions on here, but the standard remedy of downloading the dll into my system files doesn't work. Any ideas?
