Then remove it and install a *real* virus scanner instead of a constantly running ad for a commercial product.
if you don’t mind paying:
McAfee is OK, Norton is a resource hog, Kaspersky I have no idea but I’ve heard both good stories and horror stories.
if you do mind paying:
Get Avast, which is free for home use. I’ve been using it for a couple of months myself, and I have to say I’m quite impressed with the little bugger.

This occurrence is rare. Grisoft has a bad link to the update .bin file right now and it’ll probably be fixed in a few hours. Give AVG a chance, it really is a good program. If you really don’t like it may I suggest Avira Anti-Virus free.

NO!don’t listen avast sucks.i used it completely ruined my computer and i couldn’t turn it on til i got it fixed.i thought it was good til my computer broke after using it.and i know it was avast.because i have avg now and my computer is fine.
there is a bug on avg free and it is getting fixed.do not do a system restore point because it will not fix the bug.u have to wait it out.give it a day or two.trust me avg is good and safe.um if u like to see what they said go to this website.

by the way don’t report it to avg anymore it is already been reported and they want us to wait it out.it won’t do any good if u report it again.
